Web Interface Release Notes

v2.1.2 (April 7, 2010)

Cloud Engines today announces support for video and audio playback on the iPad through HTML5 implementation on http://my.pogoplug.com. Full support for the iPad is forthcoming in a native app, release to be announced at a later date.

v2.1.1 (March 29, 2010)

Patch release to the web interface that fixes the following problems

• IE7 and 8 – some links including the new share sign up link did not work

• A crash when searching, then sorting in the new search has been fixed

• Active Copy from a filter (music, movies photos, slideshows) was never intended to be allowed – it is now disabled

• Seagate FreeAgent Theatre+ added to list of consoles in Media Settings

v2.1.0 (March 16, 2010)

We've added many new features and bug fixes for this release and we're looking forward to hearing from you on them. Over the next few days we will be rolling out these features to groups of users at random (no favoritism here!) - here's how you can tell if you have the new feature set available to you. On the General Settings Page, next to the name of your Pogoplug Enabled Device you should see a number - that's the number of the firmware - if it's 2.0.3, please be patient - we're still working on updating you to the new system. If it's 2.1.0, congratulations - you are all set!

Media Streaming for PS3, Xbox360 and Seagate FreeAgent

Pogoplug owners can now easily access, share, and stream their media directly to their Xbox 360 or PS3 from any local or remotely located Pogoplug enabled device. Users can enable sharing by checking the Enable checkboxes for the drives you wish to view on your device. If someone has shared a directory with you that has media and you have a drive enabled in your account, you will be able to see their media in your game / theatre system as well.

Web-based Active Copy

Users can now set up Active Copy operations on their Pogoplug Enabled Devices. Similar to Active Copy on the Drive App, Web Active copy operations can be between any two folders in your Pogoplug account on the same drive, on different drives, even on different devices.

Web UI New Look and Feel

We've streamlined the UI for the website and added the following features:

• Users can now share a single file with others

• Search by source - you can now separate out your search results by drive

• Select multiple files / folders to copy - in the Action Pane for copy files there is a checkbox on each file and folder that you can tick, allowing you to select multiple files / folders to copy to another drive or Pogoplug

• Rename in place for folders /files - you can now rename your folders by clicking the "abc" icon next to the folder or file - no more clicking the rename button

• Tips and Tricks - we have added tips and tricks for using the website in a number of places - you can always dismiss these by checking "Don't display this hint automatically"

Security

SSH now disabled by default - with the release of 2.1.0 we have disabled SSH by default on the Pogoplug. Turning it on is simple; go to the Security Settings menu in Settings and click "Enable SSH access for this Pogoplug enabled device" under the Pogoplug Enabled Device into which you would like to be able to SSH.

Known Issues

Web UI

• Shared Transcoded videos do not play - non-transcoded videos do play; shared folders with videos in them will also play.

• Bug 1934 - Selecting Shared With Me in the Search text box still turns up native file

• Bug 1866 - Show by source sorting displays results from each drive but does not group all results from each drive together

• Bug 1550 - Web app file uploader sometimes displays "Failed" then displays progress or complete later.

Streaming to Xbox/PS3/FE Theatre+

• Drives need to be enabled one at a time in the Media Settings Menu of the website

• Drives that have been enabled will be disabled when your Pogoplug enabled device reboots; this will include a firmware update or power cycle

• While all drives will show up in the Local Drives folder of your console, only the contents of the first drive will show up in the Pictures/Music/Video filters

• PS3 will not show files in directories 7 levels or more deep

Web Active Copy

• Active Copy operations cannot be stopped from the Media Settings queue, although they will be present there. They can only be disabled from the Active Copy menu in the Library

• Active Copy operations on the Web are separate and distinct from Active Copy operations on the Drive Application

We've added the following new features to the website in this point release:

Media Settings

In Media Options, Allow Pogoplug Enabled Device to optimize videos for playback, you now have three options:

• Never - The Pogoplug Enabled Device will play the original video file and will generate neither web-optimized 10 second preview nor the web-optimzed full video.

• Auto-Generate Preview - The Pogoplug Enabled Device will create a web-optimized 10 second preview of each movie. If you preview the 10 second preview the Pogoplug Enabled Device will queue the full video to be web-optimized.

• Auto-Generate Full Transcode - The Pogoplug Enabled Device will create a web-optimized version of the full video.

Media Settings

We've added a new link "Click here to see videos eligible for a full-transcode". The dialog box that pops up will allow you to select any or all of your videos to be fully transcoded to the web optimized version. Prior to this, previewing the short transcode (10 seconds of video) by clicking the magnifying glass to play your video or hovering over the video to play in thumbnail view were the only ways to trigger the whole file to be optimized.

My Media / Show My Files

Both of these searches will now by default NOT search your shared folders. If you click the new share icon (Include files that are shared with me) next to My Media and Show My Files it will turn green, and content shared to you will be included in your search results.

Bug Fixes

These bugs are fixed in this release:

• Bug 1286 - Viewing the short preview of a clip that is currently being transcoded restarts the process from 0%

• Bug 1294 - Switching to List view while in My Music / Albums takes you to the My Music / Songs

Known Issues

These are known issues with the Web App that have not been addressed in this release:

• Bug 1203 - Shared photos from a directory do not show up in photos filter

• Bug 1210 - MP3 file with corrupt AlbumArt will not playback through the webapp

• Bug 1287 - Transcode queue will not show 2nd file if it was added while a current file is being transcoded

The new site gives users improved sharing capabilities, an easy drag-and-drop interface to create engaging multi-media slide shows, seamless media playback, and enhanced sharing.

Global Search Across Multiple Drives and Pogoplug Enabled Devices

The Library menu has changed with the addition of My Media, which allows users to search across all Pogoplug Enabled Devices and drives in the account. Users can now view all photos, videos and music in a single organized view, or to search for a specific file across all Pogoplug Enabled Devices and drives.

Organize Your Music, Photos and Videos

Pogoplug automatically displays music by Album, Artist and Genre, showing cover- art for quick access to users' favorite music. Photos are now displayed by photo timeline and videos are only a click away, including the ability to watch a preview in the thumbnail itself.

Drag-and-Drop Music and Photo Slideshows

Users can create and share slideshows using photos, videos and music on a Pogoplug enabled drive. Once a user's link is shared and viewed, their slideshow will immediately begin with the photos, videos and music they selected, playing seamlessly in the viewer's browser.

Easier Sharing with Pogoplug Address Book

Pogoplug Address Book greatly improves the speed and ease of use of sharing with a user's friends and family. Pogoplug automatically remembers all email addresses entered in a user's previous shares - even if that share no longer exists – and makes them available in an easy to use address book on the sharing pane.

Play movies directly from my.pogoplug.com

Pogoplug now supports the playback of videos directly from users' Pogoplug Enabled Devices with support for the most popular cameras, video cameras and mobile phones. Movies can be viewed directly from the Pogoplug website.

Pogoplug Gets Social

Our newest social sharing feature automatically publishes your shared multimedia to social networking sites without the need to upload anything to the Web. Now you can publish unlimited amounts of video and full-resolution photos on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter without worrying about file sizes and limitations. When your family or friends want to view content, they are automatically brought directly to your Pogoplug to see the original content. Whether you're sharing a high-def video or gobs of photos, the experience is fast and seamless.

We currently support Facebook, MySpace and Twitter and more social media sites are on the way. Using this new capability, you can publish your content on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter by simply checking a box and customizing a message. Others can only view the folders you give permission to see and shares can be disabled instantly if you want to change your privacy settings.

Foreign Language Support (BETA)

The new website now includes support for French, German, Italian and Spanish, still in beta.

Slideshow Mode

• A new mode now shows folder-style thumbnail icons with action icons, similar to Macintosh's Finder

• Filenames appear under thumbnails in this mode, and media now show a progress bar when playing.

• Video and Audio will play like a playlist, going from track to track automatically

New Video Player

We are pleased to announce a new, enhanced video player

New Audio Player

We are pleased to announce a new, enhanced audio player! Click on your file and it now play in a dedicated player at the right of the lower toolbar. You can continue to play your music even as you browse the directories, look at pictures, etc.

Other Changes and Bug Fixes

• The look of our pop up dialogs has changed, including the display of balloons instead of modal dialog in select places

• Added support for previewing video and audio in the share landing page

• Added lower action bar, and different view modes, new slideshow, new audio preview.

• Fixed a bug that caused share email notifications to not always send.

• Fixed a bug that prevented passwords with special characters from working.

• Fixed a JavaScript error in IE7.
