We’re Looking for a Few Good Testers

beta! We’ve reached a pretty important internal milestone here at Pogoplug: we’re ready to expand our beta program to include a few individuals outside our current sphere. In an attempt to play fair, we’re going to make this available to anyone living in the US or Canada (specifically chosen for logistics purposes – we’ll do this again internationally as we prepare to ship units to the rest of the world – click here if you want to be on our “when are we shipping” mailing list).

If you are interested, the Public Beta program will last about a month. We’ll take care of shipping the units, you take care of putting them through their paces. At the end of the program, you can keep them!

We plan to run the beta program fairly “out in the open”, but we may have a few things here and there we’ll ask you to keep to yourself. If you aren’t comfortable with that, we understand and you should probably skip this one. Otherwise, jump on in!

Update: thanks for the interest, but we are no longer accepting applications for this beta program.

Thanks again for your interest and support. We probably won’t be able to write everyone back who enters, but we’ll do our best!

Guys.. I can’t wait to be on the beta. Ever since I saw the PogoPlug demo from CES; I have been very intrigued. Pick me Pick Me Pick me :)

  2. Dan says:

I look forward for this device to come out and would like very much to be included in the beta test.

This is the second time I completed the form. During my first submission a received a page not found error, so hopefully this second attempt is not too late. I have been very interested in this product from the moment I heard about it. I have a desire to have access to my files while from my home PC’s. I have tried multiple “Cloud” or synchronization type solutions each with it’s own pro’s and con’s. The Pogoplug seems to solve the three biggest problems; 1) Cost. Your device is a fair,one-time cost which doesn’t change as I add more storage, 2) Allows me to utilize the equipment I already own, 3) no need to install software on each machine I want to access my file from. I can just go to the website – that’s great!

If it helps any, I actually sent a tweet a few days ago asking to be a beta tester. So perhaps I get credit for thinking ahead ;) My twitter name is Double_K

  4. Team Pogoplug says:

Kenny – we did get your form, not to worry!!

  5. iansltx says:

Threw my name in the hat. Just to sweeten things, between me and the other people who live in my mini-apt-complex we’ve got several brands and capacities of external drives to test with. Oh, and my MacBook Air runs Windows 7 dual-boot and Windows XP in a VM…don’t have XP at the moment running “bare metal” but that isn’t a hard problem to remedy :)

  6. Kenny Kern says:

Team Pogoplug – That’s awesome! Thanks for the reply and letting me know; you guys rock!!

  7. Richard Peters says:

I too had to make 2 submissions because my email address was partially deleted in the first. Did you get them?

  8. Team Pogoplug says:

@Richard – yup, we got it, thanks!

  9. Dan Lackey says:

I have seen other items that say they can do what Pogopulg says. But time will tell if this product rocks or not. I really hope so. The world could really use this. Best of luck.

  10. Navdeep says:

Can I get a confirmation to make sure you got my form as well? :)

  11. Team Pogoplug says:

    @Navdeep – we sure did!

@everyone else – We are getting a lot of forms successfully filled out, so I’d say it’s pretty safe to assume the form *did* work unless you saw something weird happen…

  12. Brian C. says:

Great device! I hope I get to beta. If not, I’ll be buying one, it’s perfect for use with the exisiting home grown external drives. I’d been window shopping for some network attached drives for home use, but this will suit my needs.

  13. Casanova says:

Hope you got my request since sent it from the iPhone.!
I can’t wait to get a few of these. Will make pcanywhere obsolete at my work!

  14. Team Pogoplug says:

@Casanova – yup, we got it!

  15. malhotra81 says:

Def a great product…hope i get in the beta run..

Just what I had been looking for. I researched a few and most only support FAT32 format and only 1 device..GO POGOPLUG!

  16. Mina says:

    Product sounds awesome!
Had a hard drive fail on me this week (luckily backed up), but this would make life so much easier.

    Hope I wasn’t too late…

    Thanks!

  17. Kelly S. says:

Hoping my submission reached you guys. After I hit submit the screen went blank. Don’t know If I should re-submit. Could you check to see if you received my submission. Thanks.

    Kelly

  18. Team Pogoplug says:

@kelly – we got it, thanks!!

  19. Andrew says:

Any chance some of us who pre-paid for the product could participate in the beta?

  20. TonyK says:

I live in Central Canada and I have already pre-ordered 3 pogoplugs. I am an IT professional working for a global IT company, so I could test access from our intranet as well as from customer environments where we have to tunnel out via network based security gateway products. While mobile, I access my home environment both from a high powered laptop as well as an Acer Aspire One so I can provide feedback on performance differences.

If you want someone that can provide that range of testing, let me know. Once I get my purchased units, I will provide my insights as well, but if you want early feedback, let me know. Your product fills a niche in the market and I want to help ensure that you succeed. I’m even fine with the beta unit being one of my three purchased units so long as they are identical hardware anyway.

Hi Guys, I understand that you’re no longer accepting testers for this neat little device, however I thought I might pique your interest when I mention that I would be comparing your NAS Adaptor to Addonics new NAS Adaptor…

Same sorta deal.. USB to Ethernet, portable, easy to use, and I think smaller..

If you’re interested I would love to be a Pogoplug beta Tester!

    Thanks,
    Jamil Premji

  22. Robor says:

    Greatings,
    not bad…

    Thanks

  24. Hello. Your site displays incorrectly in Explorer, but content excellent! Thanks for your wise words =)

  25. Not that I’m impressed a lot, but this is more than I expected for when I stumpled upon a link on Delicious telling that the info is awesome. Thanks.

  26. R_Squared says:

I would love to be a tester for this device. I have over 20 years experience in testing software and hardware and have the availability of using mulitple operating systems. These include Linux, XP, Vista, Vista64, Server2003. I have laptops, desktops, and servers. I have many different makes and models of USB drives as well. I know I am probably too late for the BETA but I also know with my experience and equipment I could return a high value for the testing.

  27. tomh says:
