Oh Canada!

January 26th, 2010

Pogoplug has made it’s way to Canada on the TigerDirect.ca retailer website. We’re pleased to be launching in Canada with the same great retail partner that we first launched Pogoplug with in the U.S. in late 2009.

The partnership with TigerDirect has allowed Pogoplug to reach an audience of consumers who are hungry for cool new products at a great value and that is exactly what TigerDirect is known for.

To purchase a Pogoplug in Canada, click here or simply go to their site and search for Pogoplug.

Where’s Pogoplug?

January 13th, 2010

It’s now at Fry’s Electronics! Be one of the first 20 people to take a cell phone picture of a Pogoplug on the shelf at Fry’s and receive a gift package.

Pogoplug is on the shelves at Fry’s Electronics 34 locations across the country. We’ve seen them and can verify that they are on store shelves but we haven’t trained the staff or created any in-store displays yet.

Go to your nearest Fry’s Electronics and snap a picture with your cell phone and email it to contest@pogoplug.com. Be sure to include ‘Fry’s Electronics’ in the subject line, along with the location of the store.

The first 20 submissions will be contacted to receive a gift package. Fry’s Electronics is an awesome store with thousands of cool products, but the floor staff is not yet fully aware of Pogoplug, so finding a pogoplug on the shelf may be tougher than you imagine. It’s our own version of ‘Where’s Waldo’ but maybe even harder.

Good luck!

Our First Retail Partner

December 16th, 2009

This morning online sales went live with our first retail partner. This is a huge milestone in the Pogoplug story and we’re happy to be in partnership with TigerDirect.com.

Everyone at TigerDirect.com has been extremely supportive of the Pogoplug product since first introduction and at all times they’ve come through beyond our expectations.

We will have more partners coming very soon but we wanted to publicly thank our first ‘go-live’ partner. To see the Pogoplug page, just go to www.tigerdirect.com…the page looks great.

Happy Holidays!

Version2

December 2nd, 2009

Since we launched Pogoplug earlier this year, our community has grown by thousands of individuals.  We have received feedback (both positive and constructive) through forums, blogs, twitter, email and just about every other e-possibility that exists !  Last Thursday night we had an event in our new offices to introduce some of our loyal friends and journalists to the next generation of Pogoplug and then rolled-out our public announcement on Friday morning.  I am very excited about our newest release!  Thanks to your help, we’ve been able to incorporate your input into all aspects of the product from the feature set to industrial design to packaging.  This in no way means that we’re done innovating and making the product even better but we feel we’ve certainly taken it to a new level.

Our vision is to give every home a truly simple and enjoyable way to have a storage cloud; one that can grow to an unlimited size, while staying safe and sound in the privacy of your own home.  Based on early responses it looks like we’re on the right track. Now we’re going to take it up to the next level by bringing Pogoplug to a retailer near you. We’re also working on translating the product to multiple languages and making our offering available in multiple countries around the world.

As always, thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm and commitment to our product and company. We’ll continue to push the boundaries of this emerging category we’re calling ‘personal cloud’ and we’ll continue to take the product feedback and incorporate it whenever possible.

Losing our dear friend.

October 6th, 2009

Over the weekend we suddenly and unexpectedly lost our long-time friend, investor and board member, Craig Johnson. Craig was the ultimate entrepreneur’s advocate; he was enthusiastic, creative, and fiercely loyal. Through the years, Craig was responsible for helping countless individuals and teams turn their ideas and visions into successful businesses. Anyone who has interacted with Craig knew him as possessing a rare combination of kindness, intellect and ceasless positive energy. It was far too early for him to leave this world and we already miss him dearly. It was a true honor to have Craig as part of our team and in our lives.

With a heavy heart,

The Pogoplug Team

Pogoplug Gets Social

September 16th, 2009

Picture 4Social networks make it easy to connect and communicate with friends and family, but  it’s still a lot of work to share videos and photos online. It can be a real challenge to find the content you want to share, wait for painful upload times and then remember to tell people about the new content you’ve uploaded.  What if you could instantly–yes instantly–share unlimited amounts of multimedia with friends and family using existing social media sites?

Our newest social sharing feature automatically publishes your shared multimedia to social networking sites without the need to upload anything to the Web. Now you can publish unlimited amounts of video and full-resolution photos on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter without worrying about file sizes and limitations.  When your family or friends want to view content, they are automatically brought directly to your Pogoplug to see the original content. Whether you’re sharing a high-def video or gobs of photos, the experience is fast and seamless.

We currently support Facebook, MySpace and Twitter and more social media sites are on the way. Using this new capability, you can publish your content on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter by simply checking a box and customizing a message.  Others can only view the folders you give permission to see and shares can be disabled instantly if you want to change your privacy settings.
